Welcome to my fundraising page for Dancing with Chicago Celebrities (DWCC)! I’m very proud to represent the Cancer Research Foundation Breakthrough Board in raising funds for the University of Chicago and their incredible breast cancer team in the DWCC Corporate challenge.
Growing up with an addiction to challenge, I always take opportunities to challenge myself. This includes living and working in 5 countries, speaking four languages, climbing the corporate ladder of fortune 500 companies in the sales teams where I was always the only non-native speaker. It also includes pretending I can play golf.
In 2023, after two failed attempts, I finally took the biggest challenge so far in life - leaving the industry that I worked for almost a decade and following my heart to work on solving problems for my community, my city and for all humankind. No matter where you live, what your race is, how wealthy or how poor you are, almost everybody can be impacted by cancer at some point during their lifetime directly or indirectly. We all know someone who has been touched by breast cancer and many of us have experienced the heartbreak of losing our loved ones. Therefore, I became a member of the Breakthrough Board, a group of women who raise funds for cutting-edge cancer research at University of Chicago.
My dear friends, as you all know, fundraising is a new challenge for me. I don’t have much experience but I’m working hard on this. Without much experience in dancing, I’m taking ballroom dance lessons with my very talented (and very tall) dance partner/instructor. I’m practicing my dance moves every day. I promise that I will deliver the best of myself on the dance floor March 8th, 2024. I would be so grateful for your support with sponsoring my efforts in contributing to this very important cause, whether it’s to cheer me on in the ballroom on March 8th 2024 or by donating in any amount.
