Alyssa Donovan, WGN

Alyssa Donovan is a meteorologist and reporter at WGN. She grew up in the northwest suburbs of the city and is one of Chicago's Very Own! She's always been passionate about giving back to the community through volunteer work and emceeing fundraising events. After losing her father to lung cancer in 2020, Alyssa has worked to advocate for all types of cancer research. With breast cancer as one of the most common cancers among women, it’s no surprise that Alyssa has friends and extended family members who have been impacted. She’s grateful for the opportunity to fundraise for such an important cause.

Alyssa spent a good amount of her childhood taking dance classes but she’s quickly learned, through her lessons at Arthur Murray,  that dancing with a partner is a whole different game! She’s excited to represent WGN and push herself out of her comfort zone for this wonderful event.
