Dr. Regina M. Stein - Oncologist & Hematologist
Lurie Cancer Center, Northwestern Memorial Hospital
Many great doctors have represented Northwestern Memorial and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center on our dance floor over the years and this year is no exception We are delighted to welcome Dr. Regina Stein into the family.
Dr. Stein grew up near the beaches of southern New Jersey, the
daughter of Greek and Colombian immigrants. She attended Rutgers
University in a joint BA/MD program in New Brunswick, NJ where she
cultivated her early interest in medicine and community service. While
in medical school, she led a homeless outreach project and co-created a
clinic for the under-served population in Camden, NJ.
She completed her
residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City before coming to
Northwestern to complete a fellowship in Oncology and Palliative
Medicine. Dr. Stein has been on the faculty at Northwestern since 2004, specializing in caring for patients with a variety of different cancer diagnoses. Throughout her career, Dr. Stein has maintained a passion for the delivery of compassionate patient care and improving patient education.
She has been involved in numerous fundraising events and has been a
recurring speaker at the Greek Americans against Breast Cancer Gala, although we're fairly certain this is her first time doing
one where she takes to the ballroom to dance. Dr. Stein says he family and friends are "the center of my joy." She lives in Chicago
with her husband and two children and can be spotted going between the
girls' ballet, piano, and rock climbing lessons. She is thrilled to put
on her dancing shoes and advocate to raise money for breast cancer
prevention and research. We hope you will show your support for Dr. Stein and all the incredible work she is doing in the fight against breast cancer.
