Dakarai Turner - FOX

We couldn't be happier than to have Dakarai join our ballroom to represent our friends at FOX 32. He's been back in Chicago since September and we knew when we started talking with him that he was the one to follow in the dancing footsteps of his colleague Jenny Milkowski, who rocked our ballroom in 2017

Dakarai is actually "back" at FOX 32 in Chicago as of this past fall. He interned at the station in 2013 as a student at DePaul University,

Following his first stint at the station. Dakarai headed to WMAR-TV, the ABC affiliate in Baltimore, Maryland where he was nominated for an Emmy for his coverage of the Baltimore uprising after the death of Freddie Gray in 2015. Dakarai also covered the 2016 presidential race.

Before moving to Baltimore, Dakarai worked at WLTX-TV, the CBS affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina where he covered many stories important to that community including politics, education, crime and government. But Chicago is Dakarai's TV home, since he studied here and found his way into television news.

He is delighted to join in the fight against breast cancer by taking part in this year's event.  Dakarai says ballroom is something he's always wanted to learn, and he is fired up to raise funds for such an important cause.

He's a hard guy to stop , so we expect great things.

If you'd like to come cheer him on in person, you can buy tickets here,
or you can make a donation to support his fancy footwork by clicking here
Either way, he says thanks for all the help in fighting this particular fight.
